Nigeria’s American-educated agriculture minister is leading efforts to raise Africa’s farm production.
With lots of land, water and labor, and a diverse agro-environment system, “Africa has huge potential in agriculture,” Akin Adesina said April 17 at a forum on increasing harvests at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Washington.
“Potential is important, but nobody eats potential,” he said, calling for a new green revolution for Africa.
