Feed the Future Monitoring System Promotes Transparency, Accountability

The Feed the Future Monitoring System helps the initiative remain transparent and accountable by capturing performance information against key indicators. In addition to consolidating reporting, the system also provides the foundation for public documents and informs decisions on future programming and budget allocations.

In 2012, data collected from five different U.S. Government agencies on activitiesthat took place in FY2011 formed the basis for the first Feed the Future Progress Report and scorecard released in October. This is the first time the interagency has reported into a common monitoring and evaluation system on food security.

The agencies that reported into the system in 2012 were:

  • U.S. Department of Agriculture
  • U.S. Department of the Treasury
  • U.S. Agency for International Development
  • Millennium Challenge Corporation
  • Peace Corps
  • International Fund for Agricultural Development
