Feed the Future boosts economic development in Ghana to effectively combat food insecurity, poverty and malnutrition by unlocking loans for businesses and smallholder farmers. To diversify the country’s export base and increase employment, Feed the Future also supports agricultural trade and investment activities countrywide. Feed the Future integrates agriculture and nutrition investments to enhance cognitive and physical development, increase economic productivity, strengthen resilience and advance global development. In 2021, Feed the Future facilitated over $98.8 million in sales for micro-, small- and medium-sized businesses and smallholder farmers. These sales enabled businesses and farmers to sell their products and purchase agricultural inputs to boost production, such as certified seeds, fertilizer and tractor services.
